12 million pigs, 17 million very tall people and the home of gin

These are just three facts about the Netherlands that might have passed you by.  Why are we suddenly so interested in the country that has given us CDs, microscopes but not, as commonly believed, tulips?   Well, forgive us for using this blog to blow our own trumpet a little, but we are very proud to say that we have just launched our new Netherlands office.

European growth

Over the last three years we’ve seen business from the EU make up more and more of our total revenue. In our positions as one of the fastest growing agencies in the UK we wanted to capitalise on that growth with the development of a European division.  

Our research showed that there was a substantial digital commerce market across the Benelux region.  Indeed the e-commerce market is currently worth about €35billion.  With the majority of that business going through the Netherlands we decided it was the ideal place for us to start our European expansion.

At the opening of the Simply Commerce Netherlands Office, Company Director Tim Roedel said: 'Over the past 18 months we have experienced substantial growth in the Benelux markets, much of which has come through referrals from UK clients. Having studied the available opportunity over the course of 2018, we have rapidly grown out a talent pool and we are now well positioned to take our successful UK consultative focussed service to the digital commerce Benelux market'

Growing our knowledge

We’ve spent the last year growing our knowledge of the Benelux marketplace and building up a pool of strong candidates to take to our European clients.  We’ve certainly run up a few air miles and with three members of the Simply Commerce UK team looking to move in 2020, and a senior Dutch national (watch this space!) looking to onboard early next year Simply Commerce will have a substantial platform for growth.
